Business risks are broadly categorized as pure risks which are negative events over which the organization has no control and speculative risks which are potential effects of actions taken and choices made that may have positive andor negative effects. When you expand an existing business line theres the risk that new products and services could not sell.
Business risk may be defined in terms of the possibility of occurrence of un-favourable events. There is a strong relationship between risk and reward. A business risk is a future possibility that may prevent you from achieving a business goal.
However external risks may be out of your control. In business risk means that a companys or an organizations plans may not turn out as originally planned or that it may not meet its target or achieve its goals.
